LEAK DETECTION KITS

The SDA Technologies leak detection kit is invaluable for finding leaks in air filtering systems.
How many times have you known there was a leak, but could not find exactly where it was? This is particularly so in dust collection systems where an examination of a problem collector just shows piles of dust.
Finding the source of the leak is not always impossible. With a pulse jet system you might notice a build-up on a blowtube, or a 'sandblast' effect, or even a half full filterbag; that is assuming you can get to the bags to check them. With a shaker collector you could carefully examine the base of each bag to look for the build-up & leak point. Alternatively, the leak could be closer to the top of the bag. With just a flashlight in the dark & the dust, any one of the possible sources could be missed.

This detector kit can make this almost impossible job so much easier, & so much more efficient.
The detection lamp is an industrial, portable UV lamp with built in ballast and a 20 foot cord. It operates on standard 110 volt supply. UV Lamp
Fluorescent Powder Pails
 Our specially formulated fluorescent powder, comes in 5 pound pails. It is available in a wide range of colours, but we find the red and the green to be the most practical for fine leak detection.

Introduce this tracer into the pickup point closest to the collector with the system running. Then turn off the system.

Glowing Tracer Powder Carefully enter the clean air section of the collector with your detector light. Gently push the lamp between the filters, or pass it over the blowtubes. Wherever there is a leak, the tracer powder will glow brightly under the detector lamp. Mark the leak point. Then repair the leak. If you need to check the repairs, perform the test again, this time with a contrasting colour

This is as simple & foolproof as it gets, however it is not applicable to every situation. Some applications such as food or pharmaceutical systems cannot allow any contamination in the product, or, access to the clean side may not be possible without disturbing the filters. But in general, this leak detection method is ideal for most dust collection systems, saving time, money and the embarrasing dust cloud.
